Learning to Pray with the Psalms
The Psalms do not merely give us devotional poetry; they train us to bring our whole selves before God. Joy, confusion, repentance, celebration, and grief are all given language there.
When we pray the Psalms, we are not borrowing someone else's spirituality in a shallow sense. We are stepping into Spirit-shaped patterns of worship that help our own hearts become more honest and more anchored.
This is especially important in seasons when prayer feels dry. Instead of waiting for emotional clarity, the Psalms give us sturdy words that keep us facing God until fresh life returns.
